Lake Baringo is world renowned for the vast array of bird species found on the lake and on the surrounding scrub land and cliff habitats. Some of the many interesting species include: Hemprich’s Hornbill, Northern Red Bishop, Brown-tailed Rock Chat, Bristle-crowned Starling, Northern Masked Weaver, Verreaux’s Eagle, African Darter, Purple Swamphen, Long-toed Lapwing, Spoonbill, Night-Heron and Water Thick-knee.
